Eclipse updating maven dependencies sleeping

My first hunch was that Eclipse might not able to connect to Internet, and to verify that I tried connecting Eclipse market place, and boom it was working fine.

thanks Go to your project preferences and then go to Builders.

m2eclipse is maybe not for you then, maybe consider switching to the maven-eclipse-plugin.

Can you make it so it only does this if my POM is changed?

I don't see any reason why it should have to load all my POMs and update dependencies when I restart, which is what it seems to be doing.
